Hunter Boots are great, but not for super cold weather January 6, 2009 I was really excited when I first received my boots. All the reviews I read were so positive and wonderful.
When I fist put them on, they fit well. I'm a size 7-7.5, depending on the shoe, and I had to go up to a size 7.5 in these. I have pretty narrow feet, but they are still pretty snug on me, especially when wearing the Hunter inserts.
Taking off the boots is quite a trick, especially with the inserts. I got quite a workout trying to remove the boots from my legs.
These also do not keep you warm. Not at all. Inserts or not, this is not appropriate footwear for those cold Chicago winters. They are great above 35 degrees. My feet were freezing during our latest snowstorm, and I was wearing socks and the inserts in the boots.
I am also short, so these boots hit just below my kneecap and hit my ankle funny. I blame my legs, not the boots.
Overall, I really like them and I have received a lot of compliments on them. I'll just keep them for the slightly warmer, cooler weather.
Great boots! some cons, but mostly pros! December 27, 2008 Here are the only drawbacks I've found: You need thick socks if you are going to the snow. They don't shield much of the cold. I have 15" calves and boots are really snug with pants tucked in. Also, they are hard to get off a bare leg if you've been sweating (inevitably happens in rubber boots). I get around this by wearing knee socks underneath. Also, as a warning, the rubber smell is strong! When they were brand new I put them on and drove an hour to the mountains. By the time I got out of the car I was nauseous. But the smell goes away with time!
All that being said, they are the most stylish rubber boots I've ever seen! I'm 5'6" and they are the perfect height, and actually flattering on my legs! I bought the navy color and they are nice and shiny. I bought a pair of $300 Aquatalia boots when I got these Hunter's and then returned the Aquatalia's in favor of these. They're great!
Run very large December 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife was going crazy with excitement when she got these boots for Christmas. It didn't last long though when she tried them on and realized they run very large. She is a 7 1/2 and i bought her size 7 and they were still way to big. We will try a 6. Beware!

From a farm to the city, my feet where never wet, cold or out of style....
Glued on Glitter? Really. November 7, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
The boot is well-constructed, so no complaints there. But, I ordered the Midnight Sparkle and was completely disappointed to find out that the sparkles were actually glued on glitter that came off when I rubbed it. What a joke. Not exactly what I expected from Hunter. So the basic black boot costs $115, and the Midnight Sparkle...basically the same black boot with glued on glitter costs $125. I am pretty infuriated.
